Stress can be good (eustress) or bad (distress) and your perceptual system plays a vital role in coping and determining if the stress motivates or overwhelm you.
We need some amount of eustress to motivate and push us to develop ourselves, our skills and even our relationships. But when its too much, we may no longer able to cope with the overload. It then become distress and we need to rest to review and evaluate how to proceed / change / drop it entirely.
Needless to say, having a good support such as your family or friends or a career coach (for your career transition) is vital to add to your resources and coping.
